Week 1 (August 12th-16th)
Week 1 of my practicum got off to a decent start. I met with
Mr. Fantroy, who will be overseeing my practicum activities. We discussed the
details of my practicum assignment. He communicated his expectations to me and
I let him know that I am going to do all that I can to assist him and maybe
help ease his work load. With both of us having hectic schedules, we tried to
figure out what would be most beneficial in helping me get my hours. I was able
to spend some time getting new teachers into InformationNow and getting email
addresses for them. I also spent some time assigning technology to new
teachers. Some were issued laptops and LCD projectors. I also explained how the
rotation system for the iPad cart works. Our school does not have enough iPads
for each teacher to have a classroom set; therefore, we use a rotation system so
that everyone gets turns. I also spent time just shadowing Mr. Fantroy so that
I could learn more about what he does.
Hours worked:
August 15th 1:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M.
August 16th 8:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M.
