Week 3

Week 3 (August 26th-August 30th)

It is week 3 and things are in full swing. This week was spent still assisting new teachers get acclimated. We had an Inow grade book training. There was also an Educate Alabama workshop that I assisted with. This purpose of this was to help teachers log in to Educate Alabama and show them how to complete the self-assessment. We also discussed assigning indicators to the PLPs and how to enter evidence. We also fielded a question and answer session to try to clear up any confusion about anything going on.

Week 2

Week 2 (August 19th-23rd)

It is week 2 of my practicum and I am really starting to sweat. I am worried about getting all of my hours logged before December. I am desperately trying to figure out a plan. I don’t take a lunch break every day, but I decided that I will start taking one daily and using my lunch hour to work on practicum related tasks. I spent some time troubleshooting for the teachers who had issues logging in. This week I was able to assist with an InformationNow training for new teachers.

Week 1

Week 1 (August 12th-16th)

Week 1 of my practicum got off to a decent start. I met with Mr. Fantroy, who will be overseeing my practicum activities. We discussed the details of my practicum assignment. He communicated his expectations to me and I let him know that I am going to do all that I can to assist him and maybe help ease his work load. With both of us having hectic schedules, we tried to figure out what would be most beneficial in helping me get my hours. I was able to spend some time getting new teachers into InformationNow and getting email addresses for them. I also spent some time assigning technology to new teachers. Some were issued laptops and LCD projectors. I also explained how the rotation system for the iPad cart works. Our school does not have enough iPads for each teacher to have a classroom set; therefore, we use a rotation system so that everyone gets turns. I also spent time just shadowing Mr. Fantroy so that I could learn more about what he does.

Hours worked:

August 15th 1:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M.

August 16th 8:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M.
